SUMMARY:The Creative Foundation 20th Anniversary co-sponsored computer coding workshops conducted by Tanmay Bakshi
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nOn Wednesday, September 18, 2019, the Creative Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Holiday Inn, Pembina. The organization awarded two distinguished Canadians with the Creative Foundation Life Mentor awards. The celebration also featured a tribute to the late artist Dr. Leo Mol. There was a guided tour of the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden for about fifteen of our local and international guests at 10:30 am on September 18, 2019. Accomplished African sculptors, Bernard Aina and Adeola Balogun came for the event from Lagos, Nigeria. The tour was designed to make the international guests familiar with the work of Dr. Mol ahead of the tribute. Deputy Mayor, Markus Chambers and Yisa Akinbolaji, founder of the Creative Foundation presented the posthumous award and tribute in honour of Dr. Leo Mol. Creative Foundation Inc (CFI) enjoyed the support of Dr. Mol in 2002 with his motivational keynote address at the Winnipeg Convention Centre and later provided advice to the organization for several years.\nAs a not-for-profit charitable organization, Creative Foundation’s mission for the past 20 years has been to develop young people’s critical and creative thinking as well as to help them develop adequate management of their natural skills. CFI provides a unique opportunity to learn about artistic expression, computer coding and about human rights from some of Canada’s leading educators and professionals. By providing a mentoring program, CFI helps to develop their confidence and skills for academic success.\nSince the underprivileged will unfortunately always be with humanity, we value every support that would assist us in developing more successful youth. That way, the youth will be able to meet the challenges of the future. With the funds and awareness raised by the event and post-celebration brochure, we will be able to continue to carry out the mission of the Creative Foundation and attract additional established professionals to support our positive cause.\n
