Dr Fola David Live in Winnipeg
Dr. Fola David, a doctor and celebrated artist, inducted as Life Mentor by Creative Foundation.
Saturday, August 23, 2025, marked a truly unforgettable occasion as Africanad and the Creative Foundation came together to honor Guinness World Record holder Dr. Fola David—a visionary artist and accomplished medical doctor. The event resonated with the parents, children, and elders who came to witness something extraordinary. The true impact of our investment in the future will become most evident in the years ahead, when today’s youth have grown and stepped into our roles.
As an artist with over four decades of experience—including more than ten years dedicated to teaching—I recognize true artistic devotion when I see it. The work created and the lives impacted—free from societal strife—are the clearest evidence of that devotion. His commitment to art mirrors the precision and care he brings to his medical practice. He is not merely a doctor who is also an artist—he is a phenomenon. He understands that life is not only about himself, but about the lives he touches through both medicine and art.
During the event, while fielding questions from an eager audience, Dr. Fola David completed a W24” x H18” surprise painting. It was a stunning display of speed and mastery. The crowd erupted in cheers. This stands as a powerful testament to his well-earned Guinness World Record for the largest drawing created by an individual—an awe-inspiring 1,050 square meters, “Unity in Diversity” completed in nine days.
Witnessing someone merge the disciplines of medicine and art with such passion reminded me of how Leonardo da Vinci must have cherished his craft. Born Gbadamosi Adefemi, he inspires nearing 100,000 followers on Instagram, where his journey continues to unfold. Having had the privilege to explore his portfolio and broader body of work beyond the Guinness World Record achievement, I am deeply impressed by the artistic mastery Dr. Fola David exemplifies. His unwavering dedication, technical excellence, and emotional depth place him among the compelling visual storytellers on a global scale.
On that same day, Dr. Fola David received two prestigious honors: the Exemplary Impact Award from Canadian Black Artists United and the Life Mentor Award from the Creative Foundation. Both awards reflect the profound influence he has had on communities across the globe. The Creative Foundation Life Mentor Award is bestowed upon an exceptional individual under the age of 40 who has made transformative contributions in their profession and served as a role model within the community and globally. Dr. Tito Daodu, a pediatric surgeon, and Tanmay Bakshi, a tech and AI prodigy who began coding at the age of five, are among the distinguished patrons previously honored.
Dr. Fola David exemplifies what it means to be a global citizen—redefining the intersection of art and medicine, challenging societal stigmas, and celebrating the beauty of diversity.
